Your Questions Answered

How much should I budget for wedding flowers?

Typically, couples allocate between 8-10% of their total wedding budget on floral designs. However, this will vary dependent on a variety of factors such as your flower choice, the number of arrangements and if there are larger floral designs and installations. How many weddings and events do you take on at any one time?

I only take on one event or wedding in any week. This means that you will receive a fully personalised service. All my focus will be on your wedding. I will always be at the wedding venue to ensure that you are 100% happy with the designs.

What does the design proposal include?

After our initial discussion, I will send you a design proposal. This includes all of the details about your venue, the overall theme, the style of the bridesmaids dresses, details of the couple, details about transportation, mood board images for the day and evening, images of the flowers and foliage, details for each design, an itemised cost, next steps, a link to the terms and conditions and payment details.

What is included in the cost?

All of the design proposals and consultation, your floral designs, transportation and set up at the venue and if required the designs will be dismantled at the end of the event either on the evening of the wedding or the following day.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. Once you are happy with the proposal a 25% deposit will be required to secure the booking.

Will the initial estimate be different from the final cost?

I always try to keep the final cost as close as possible to the estimate. However, weddings are often booked months in advance and the cost of flowers can go up as well as down.

When do I pay the final payment?

The final payment is due 4 weeks before the wedding date.

When do you order the flowers?

I will order all the flowers and foliage at least a week before the wedding to ensure that all flowers selected are available.

What do you do with the flowers when they arrive?

When the flowers arrive, I spend approximately one day conditioning them. This involves stripping the leaves, cutting the stems at an angle so they can have a good drink after their journey, and placing them in a cool dark room for at least 24 hours before I start to arrange the designs.

What if I change my mind about the flower selection?

That’s fine, as long as you let me know before I order the flowers!

When do you make the buttonholes and bouquets?

Depending on how many designs there are, I aim to make the buttonholes and bouquets on the morning of the wedding.

When do you make the table designs?

Often they are created at the venue on the day of the wedding. If this is not possible, I will create the table designs the day before and transport them to the venue.

When do you make any floral installations?

This depends on the size and the complexity of your design. In some cases, the installations will be created in stages during the week leading up to the wedding. I will liaise with the venue to make all of the necessary arrangements.

Do you offer a rental service for vases and containers?

Yes. I have a wide selection of beautiful vases, urns and containers. The cost of hiring these can be included in the initial design proposal.

Can I preserve the flowers in my bouquet as a memory of the day?

I don’t offer a preservation service. However, I can press some of the flowers from your bouquet and then mount and frame them as a beautiful memory of your wedding day.
